Historic rallying seeks snow

The historic Endurance Rally Organisation has announced details of its new Arctic Winter Trial to be run next March.

The 14-day event will take crews on a 5000km trip across snow- and ice-bound Sweden, Norway and Finland on a route created by five times RAC Rally-winning co-driver Arne Hertz.

“March is the best time for a snow event in the Arctic,” said HERO’s John Brown. “This is in response to the disappointing amounts of snow encountered on winter rallies in southern Europe these days.”

The event will start in Gothenburg on March 3 and finish in Helsinki, taking in the world’s most northerly town, Honningsvag in Norway, and the North Cape.

Each day will include regularity sections of up to 150km within a daily route distance of up to 450km.
