Top price for LM winner

The 1962 Le Mans-winning Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rossa Spyder sold for £4.7 million at the Ferrari Leggenda E Passione auction at Maranello last weekend. It is one of the highest prices ever paid at auction for a Ferrari. The RM sale, in association with Sotheby’s, realised about £23.3 million. Motor Sport hosted a gala reception at the Fiorano circuit beforehand. Other big-money cars included a 1953 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competitizione, which went for £2.9m. The 1970 512S, chassis number 1006 — featured in last month’s Motor Sport — fetched £1.8m.

Away from the cars, a 2005 Formula 1 steering wheel fetched £43,300, while a V10 F1 engine from 2004 went for £31,500.
