The Tottenham Lane address given on the chassis plate of the Elite featured this month was the birthplace of Lotus. The growing company would move to new premises in Cheshunt by June 1959. But with the Elite and the Lotus Seven, its old north London home had sparked a new era. The Tottenham Lane address is now a Jewson hardware outlet, with a plaque commemorating its Lotus link.
