It is time someone wrote in defence of the frontal appearance of the Austin Healey Sprite.
When compared with some proprietary modifications to the bonnet, the original is referred to as having an “amusing grin,” or “a toad-like appearance,” and sometimes far ruder remarks!
I have never yet seen a modified Sprite which looks balanced from a side view, they all look either nose heavy or tail heavy. I congratulate the makers on their perfectly balanced-looking design and I doubt if any one can better it. Leave the headlights where they are – why take away the distinctive appearance to make it just the same as every other sports car?
