Old cars discovered

Old cars discovered or reported include a circa 1923 6-cylinder 12/30 Talbot tourer, languishing in the open but generally complete, in a field in Yorkshire, and, at the same farm, a very sporting 1926 Daimler Twenty open tourer with dismantled engine and a large 1923 Fiat chassis. A 1927/8 Fiat fabric saloon in sorry state has been found in the Midlands, probably a 507, although referred to as a 501, and data is needed on a circa 1925 Derby (XX 2990) being restored in that area. In Lincolnshire a 1925/6 4-cylinder Armstrong Siddeley landaulette is available for a tow-away sum, an Autovia V8 engine lies in a yard at Ipswich, there is an Alvis Firebird and rough Singer Le Mans at a breaker’s in Suffolk, and we hear that an old Leyland lorry has lain for many years in a scrapyard near Blackpool. An 88-year-old owner has what is thought to be a Riley Plus-Ultra for disposal, because he can no longer obtain insurance, and a couple of wheels from a circa 1920 11.9 Standard, shod with 710 x90 tyres, have turned up in Hampshire. A 1930/31 Standard Avon coupé may be available in that county. Letters can be forwarded. Requests have been received for a Talbot 75 or 90 block and head, and radiator and lamps for a 1921 16 h.p. Wolseley tourer found in Wiltshire and about to be restored.
