Brooklands Re-union: June 29th

Turning to happier things, pertaining to the pre-Marples days it seems desirable that car-devotees of Brooklands Track should emulate the motorcyclists and have their own Brooklands Re-union. Apart from drivers and mechanics, there must be countless persons who remember the now-defunct Motor Course with affection, and who might care to bring to a meeting photographs, souvenirs and memories of the old Track.

Consequently, Dudley Gahagan and William Boddy propose a meeting at the “Hand and Spear,” by Weybridge Station, from 6 p.m. onwards on June 29th. As the normal bar facilities will be available, no charge will be necessary. But a p.c. to say you are coming, stating what your associations with Brooklands were, and whether you can bring any photographs, etc., would be appreciated—to W. Boddy, Carmel, Wood Lane, Fleet, Hants—so that on arrival your button-hole identification disc will be ready. During the evening it may be possible to show a film containing excerpts of Brooklands racing. The success of the evening is in the hands of all who feel nostalgic appreciation of the old Motor Course…. This could well become an annual Re-union. Meanwhile, make a note of June 29th.
