THE V.S.C.C OULTON PARK RACE MEETING-JUNE 19TH

One of the most popular fixtures in the V.S.C.C. Calendar, this meeting will see the Richard Seaman Memorial Historic Trophy Race for pre-1940 racing cars run off on a handicap and scratch basis over 20 laps, and should produce a fine scrap between the E.R.A. contingent, which will not have the post-war racing cars which the Club now fosters to harry them. There is also a 12-lap Seaman Trophy Race for vintage racing cars, and one wonders whether the Sunbeam ” Tiger ” will again be in winning form in this event. The keenly-anticipated battle of the 250F Maseratis, Connaughts, Alias and Cooper-Bristols, etc., should be seen in the 10-lap Allcomers’ Race, and perhaps in some of the 5-lap handicaps, which include the traditional Frazer Nash/G.N. race. The special attraction this year is the 5-lap race for Morgan 3-wheelers, and altogether no true vintage enthusiast can afford not to see the racing round Oulton Park’s 2.76-mile road circuit on this summer Saturday. Racing commences at 1 p.m. Apart from the racing, the usual Concours d’Elegance with a probable parade will happen, so there is promise of a full day’s excellent entertainment. Cheshire Car Circuits Ltd. charge 12s. 6d. for admission, schoolchildren 5s. or free under school age, and car-parking is free. A Paddock transfer costs 10s. Entries have closed, incidentally.—W. B.
