If we do have any trouble with the BMW 2500, we are informed that BMW Concessionaires GB Ltd. have appointed a “Problem Puncher” to run a new Customer Relations Department. He is 34-year-old John Markey, a BMW engineer. The job is to handle any problems of BMW owners. “Because we are always willing to meet owners’ problems, regardless of the age or mileage of the car, we have appointed a qualified engineer, and not an apologist, to handle our Customer Relations Department”, said Mr. A. L. Jones, Joint Managing Director of BMW Concessionaires GB. “If a fault develops in any BMW car, we always investigate”, he said. “If we are certain the fault is not due to normal wear, but to some flaw in manufacture or assembly, we are always prepared to replace the faulty part. We cannot, of course, guarantee to replace high-mileage parts free of charge, but we claim we go further than any other manufacturer in doing our best for owners.” Which sounds fair enough.
