Where have all the old cars gone?

Sir,

Returning to the U.K. tor. an Easter vacation, I resurrected my 1935 Morris Eight tourer and in the course of 1,200 rather wet and windy miles. between Kent and Yorkshire I saw only THREE old cars on the roads a series-E Morris, a late ‘forties Lea-Francis estate-car, and a Jowett Javelin. What has happened to all those Austin ‘l’ens, Rubies, M.G.s, Triumph Roadsters, Renowns, Mayflowers and pre-war Morrises that used to abound?

I certainly hope to see many more old cars in use this summer during my next vacation when, you may be sure, I shall once again be driving my trusty Morris tourer.

(But I expect you saw some aged Ford Prefects and POpulars faithfully serving their owners? Ed.)
