A Riley at Shawbury Aerodrome

Sir,

I have just come across this photo and wonder if it is of any interest. The place is Shawbury aerodrome, the time about June 1919, the car is a V-twin Riley owned by a Shrewsbury bank manager and in daily use and kindly lent to the driver, Sgt. Schofield and myself in return for certain services. The car was a very good goer and reliable. It had a more or less self-changing gearbox; one changed the lever to the required gear an.d by an arrangement of springs it then changed itself on the clutch being depressed the change was to say the least noticeable, but it worked and gave no trouble in the time I knew the car. I wonder if it still exists?
