Diesel Bentley

I am afraid that Ronald Smith (page 573, May issue) has been misled by the obituary on Lord de Clifford. The diesel engined car which de Clifford drove in the (1933) Monte Carlo Rally was, in fact, an old (even then) Bentley 3-litre saloon.
