Too many Silverstones?

Sir,
We, as an Association, are concerned that there is a possibility of “new” Healey Silverstones (as distinct from the Austin Healey replica just announced) appearing on the market, and we would urge any potential Silverstone owners to contact ourselves reference the provenance of any car they are offered.

There were only 105 genuine Silverstones manufactured and the survival rate has been very good, but we do not think it would be in the interests of the classic car movement if we suddenly find more existing in 1990 than were around at the end of 1950!

Are we wrong to be worried by this possibility? What do other clubs think?
