Not true

The VSCC accuses Motor Sport of failing to accept its mistakes. Not quite true! I have tried to correct my errors and have advised authors reading us to look a few issues ahead, in case additions or corrections have been made to the material in question. For instance, I have corrected the date of Georges Boillot’s death, pointed out by William Court as wrongly given in the April issue, and I readily admit that I was too hasty in saying Rapson tyres were used on the Sunbeam with which Segrave won the 1923 French GP – they were Michelins, Rapsons not being used until 1924. So there! Verbum sapient est. (And I shall be in trouble if I don’t get that right.)
