Stars come out for Healey's 50th

A number of famous names from Austin Healey history will attend the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Healey 100 this August. Centred around a special race meeting at Thruxton on August 3, the celebrations will mark the car’s debut at the Earls Court Motor Show.

Gerry Coker, the designer of the Austin Healey 100, and members of the Healey family will be joined by race and rally drivers who achieved success at the wheel of the cars —Jack Sears, Alec Poole, Paddy Hopkirk and 1961 Alpine Rally-winner Donald Morley.

Also present will be former BMC competitions manager Marcus Chambers and Roy Jackson-Moore, who tested the early 100s and helped Donald Healey to achieve many speed records in the 1950s.
