Old friends reunited

Former VSCC president ‘Steady’ Barker recently celebrated his 83rd birthday by being reunited at the old lbsley circuit with ‘Simplicity Itself’, the innovative 750cc Austin Seven racer built by Jack French in 1953. ‘Steady’ drove the car to a debut victory there 50 years ago.

‘Simplicity’ is now in the care of Barry Clarke, also a former VSCC president.
