Peter Meyrick will contest both the Historic F1 Championship and Grand Prix Masters races this season after adding the ex-Marc Surer Arrows A5 to his stable. Meyrick will race his March 761 in GPM events and plans to return to Historic F2 with his March 782.

Fifty-three cars competed in the first Flying Scotsman rally from Brooklands to Edinburgh. The event was won by Paul Carter/John Bayliss in a 1936 Bentley Derby 4¼, while Paul Rogers/Annabel Jones won the Pioneer category in a 1924 Vauxhall 30/98, and Neil Tucket/Peter Eldred took the Spirit of the Rally in a 1911 Ford Model-T.

The MG Car Club will mark the 50th anniversary of its North Western Centre’s entry at Le Mans with a race at Oulton Park on May 9. From 1959-61, the centre’s MGAs were disguised as works entries after MG withdrew from Le Mans.

After gauging likely support from its members, the HGPCA has confirmed an additional UK date on its ’09 calendar. Pre-66 GP cars will now appear at the Oulton Park Gold Cup in August.

Two Formula Atlantic cars – Terry Fullerton’s Lola T460 (chassis HU17) and Daryl Taylor’s March 78B (chassis 78B-8) – have been stolen from a workshop in the Yeovil area. Both cars run distinctive maroon engine blocks on their BDAs and Hewland FT200 gearboxes. There is a £10,000 reward for information leading to their return. Contact Bruce Fullerton on 07712 885354.

An association has been launched to save the Charade circuit near Clermont-Ferrand, France which is under threat from local residents on issues of noise. Details are available at www.pour-charade.fr

Mike Anderson rallied his Triumph TR7 V8 on the Bulldog Historic Rally nearly 30 years after it was used on the Lombard RAC Rally. The former Leyland ST car ran in period in both 16-valve and V8 trim. The car is back in Tony Pond period livery following help from co-driver Fred Gallagher.
