THE R.A.C. HASTINGS RALLY. EVERYTHING READY FOR THE ANNUAL EVENT TO BEGIN ON MARCH 14th.

LAST year’s R.A.C. Rally, finishing at Torquay, was such a success that it has now become firmly established as a sporting-cum-social fixture among motorists. This year the finishing point will be at Hastings, and already the entries have closed with the colossal figure of 349. Owing to the fact that the number of drivers desiring to start from London exceeds 100 a certain number of entries

are being held in suspense, and may consequently be added to the total of 349.

At least 53 cars will have women drivers, and will compete for the special Ladies prizes. The nine starting controls have attracted the following numbers of competitors. London 100, Bath 26, Norwich 28, Leamington 70, Buxton 29, Harrogate 34, Liverpool 31, Newcastleon-Tyne 17, Edinburgh 14. In all Rallies the eliminating tests at

the end play a decisive part in the final results, and practice at these tests is well worth while. For the convenience of competitors, and by courtesy of the Brooklands Automobile Racing Club, any entrant in the Rally may go to the Track on any week-day and practice slow running, acceleration and braking, and stopping and re-starting, on courses in the Finishing Straight and on the Test-hill, free of charge.
