Worth looking at

July 7, 2014

Foreign car manufacturers are proud of their advertising. For instance, Renault have issued an enormous book showing the layouts issued since 1957 in Conjunction with C. Vernon & Sons Ltd. in which the Dauphine is seen riding on balloons, even up-ended on its boot, while Mercedes-Benz have issued a similar booklet of their advertising in Life. It is high time British advertising received recognition, so we present two of the ” Worth Looking At . . .” layouts, in which charming young women, model from the Roger Wood Studio, are posed with good cars equipped with Smiths instruments, a series S. Smith & Sons Ltd. have been running for some considerable time, without any ballyhoo—and which we like looking at. Depicted are, top, a girl with a Sunbeam Alpine, below, a young woman and her jaguar.
