Top-bracket cars

Sir,
I was very interested to see the picture of his late Majesty’s 1924 Lanchester Forty, and to read Mr. Hutton-Stott’s letter. The second Forty referred to in the letter, GU 2, of early 1929, must have been one of the last three or four Forty Lanchesters to be produced. The 21 h.p. model was a 1926, (YO 3) 4-light fabric saloon, with partition, by, I think, Gurney Nutting.

Incidentally, another Lanchester customer who had a Daimler-Lanchester straight-eight in the mid-thirties was the Maharaja of Jamnagar—a very handsome open car.
