Sir,

I feel I must write to express my gratitude to you for your review of the Jaguar publication—”Case History”—in the January issue of Motor Sport, I took your advice and requested a copy, which I have received today. As I am in the course of rebuilding a 1930 Standard Big Nine Swallow saloon the information contained in this publication is of great value.

May I also thank you for your road-test report in the December 1960 issue of the Fiat 500 saloon, the reading of which prompted me to purchase a July 1960 model, and with which I am very pleased. My first check over 2,000 miles results in 1-1/2 pints of oil and average petrol consumption of 57 m.p.g., on the cheapest VIP grade; not too bad with 37,000 on the “clock.” These foreign cars must have something! I could not quite afford a VW—they hold their price too well.

Finally, thank you for the only magazine I can read from cover to cover and, 12 months later, do the same again, with added interest.
