May I, in turn, sing praises not to a garage but to Smiths Industries Ltd., and in particular the Motor Accessories Department ?
I recently acquired a secondhand Smiths temperature gauge and found that it would not fit my car (Morris 1000 Traveller). I wrote to Smith’s, who sent me several adaptors but unfortunately none of these solved the problem. After several letters and numerous telephone calls, each of which were very politely received and very helpfully answered, it was found that my particular gauge was not suitable for my car.
Today I have received a completely new gauge from Smiths without, charge—they politely ask that I send my gauge to them at my convenience. Is that not fantastic service in this day and age ? Usual disclaimers.
