RS1800's future

Further to our remarks last month concerning the future of the Escort RS1800, Ford have told us that this model is being made alongside the other RS Escorts at Saarlouis in West Germany.

Originally the 1800 model was made at Halewood, Liverpool, and it could well return there, once full-scale Saarlouis production of the new Fiesta mini-car is required.
