Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb

This year is the 75th anniversary of the first meeting to be held on the 1,000 yard hill at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire and the Midland Automobile Club are planning suitable celebrations. At the VSCC meeting on July 5th it is hoped to assemble for demonstration climbs, cars of the 1905 and near period, such as Daimler, Napier, Mercedes etc. At the August meeting, which is a round in the RAC Hillclimb Championship, the demonstrations will include record-holding cars from the past thirty years or so (1946-1979) and some of the motorcycles that competed in the years 1948-1964. Definitely a year to support Shelsley Walsh.

The MAC hold very extensive archives of programmes, entry lists and photographs of all the meetings since 1905 but have one omission — a programme for the May 1929 meeting. If anyone can fill this gap for them the MAC would be most grateful, and I feel sure they would reward a donor with a complimentary visit to the anniversary meetings. Secretary: M.
