The MCC Land's End Trial

There is still (just) time to enter this Easter event, if you contact the event’s secretary — John Aley, 7 Lime Tree Close, Hessett, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The event will include all the favourite classic hills, including Beggar’s Roost, Darracott. and Blue Hills Mine (near Perranporth) where competitors can be seen on the afternoon of Saturday April 10th. Some over-enthusiastic doctoring of Crackington by local fanatics in recent years has led to long delays there, which meant that later competitors had to tackle Blue Hills in the dark. Unfortunately the very real danger of a competitor going over the 800 ft. cliff at the top of Bluehills has led the MCC to leave Crackington out of the trial this year, the club apologises to its regular Crackington spectators for this, and hopes that they will appreciate that it cannot have its regular competitors’ safety put at risk through the antics of the local Crackington cowboys.
