No further news has been received about the Brooklands track situation but rumour did suggest that the “Forty Acres” has been completely sealed off by Gallahers, to the extent that the Brooklands Society was unable to remove the tools and appliances it uses for refurbishing the banking. Meanwhile, on TV appears a remote stretch of railway in Scotrland, due for closure, which is being reprieved for further enquiries to be made, because of the unique number of tunnels and bridges it traverses. We wish the future of this line well; but why cannot similar sympathies be observed in the case of the old, extremely historic Brooklands Track?
