Ferrari unveils revised F1 car

At Fiorano on February 1 Ferrari launched its pukka 1989 Formula One chassis, designated F640, in time for tyre-testing at Jerez.

The new car is outwardly very similar to the interim F639 which has been extensively tested by Nigel Mansell, Gerhard Berger and Roberto Moreno since its construction last year, but incorporates slightly revised aerodynamics. The team remains committed to the use of designer John Barnard’s seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox.
