Derek Warwick has signed to drive a Peugeot 905, which he will share with Yannick Dalmas. Philippe Alliot and Mauro Baldi will share a 905, as they did last year.

Mazda will run a single car this year, possibly adding a second for the late-season races. It is designed by Nigel Stroud, powered by a Judd V10, and is being built by TWR.

Glenn Waters’ TOM’S Toyota GB operation will run a two-car team from Hingham, Norfolk. Geoff Lees and Hitoshi Ogawa will drive one of the TS-010 V10 cars, Andy Wallace and Jan Lammers the other.

Pending an announcement, Cor Euser is the only driver named so far for the Euro Racing Lola two-car team based in Holland. The Lola T92/10 has been tested on Michelin tyres, Euser almost matching Peugeot’s times at Nogaro.

Thierry Birrer is the French equivalent of Britains Alan Randall, almost unknown until he registered the Citra-Sport for two cars in the SWC. Birrer has ordered new Allards for the team based in Puteaux, a Paris suburb, and Henri Pescarolo is likely to be the driver/manager. The names of Olivier Grouillard and Alessandro Nannini have been connected with Citra-Sport.

BRM has registered two V12-powered cars for the SWC, but Harri Toivonen is the only driver confirmed. Manuel Reuter and Wayne Taylor are strong candidates.
