Rolls-Royce and Bentley

by Klaus-Josef Robfeldt. Haynes Publishing, £75.00.

This is a deluxe offering of a much-published subject, this large, sleeve-protected book covering the familiar ground of the two marques’ history, production data and technical specifications from 1904 onwards.

It was first released in Germany in 1991 and its author has to compete with the many very experienced and long-established historians of Rolls-Royce history in this country. Perhaps, therefore, the book’s appeal will be in the magnificent colour illustrations, although it is a pity that the best of these is so large that they have become bisected. But if you like the leathery smell of these great motor-cars you should enjoy the aroma of this addition to the vast output of R-R historical material. WB
