4-Star is reborn

July 7, 2014

Those of us who haven’t rebuilt the engines of our classic cars to run on unleaded may have a lifeline. While leaded fuel is in principle now banned, the government has made a limited quantity available to “special interest groups”. One distributor, Bayford Thrust, will supply leaded four-star to any filling station joining the scheme, so readers wanting the real thing should ask their local garage to call Bayford Thrust on 01937 541111. He took part in some of the early historic rallies, winning one of the Pirelli Marathons, and regularly runs his Mk2 Jaguar in road events.
