James Hunt celebration for Goodwood

It seems incredible, but 25 years have passed this summer since James Hunt became the sixth Briton to win the World Drivers’ Championship. His feat is among many to be celebrated within Goodwood’s Festival of Speed on 6-8 July. Hunt’s titanic battle with defending champion Niki Lauda aroused unprecedented fervour among British fans at Brands Hatch. The title chase clearly embodied

The Will to Win,’ which is the overall theme of the ninth annual event at Goodwood House. Naturally, a Marlboro McLaren M23 has been invited to head the Silver Jubilee retrospective, and it is hoped that a Hesketh 308 will also run, to mark Hunt’s 1974 International Trophy win and maiden grand prix victory at Zandvoort in 1975. Further significant cars are expected to be added. MP
