Just one penalty point separated the top two crews on the VSCC’s 180-mile Measham Rally, but that was enough to give John Potter/Ian North a hat-trick of victories on this demanding event.
The winning Alvis 12/50 Sports was pushed all the way by the Frazer Nash Boulogne Vitesse of Richard Parsons/Tim Cork. Despite the lack of a speedo, the latter pair stayed in contention until within sight of the finish of this 12-hour night affair.
Michael Windsor-Price/Gillian Carr (MG NA) took the Newcomers Special Award.
The rally was based in Lancashire for a third and final time, and 46 cars made the start.
