One-litre F3 cars come out to play

An initiative by the 1000cc FORMULA 3 Historic Racing Association to bring representative fields of 1-litre F3 cars back into racing is gathering momentum, with 28 cars now registered as intending to race during 2009.

Created by racers Steve Wilkinson and Keith Messer, the association was formed to encourage single-seater cars produced between 1964 and 1970 back into racing. A six-event schedule has been arranged for 2009.

“We’re over the moon with the response,” said Wilkinson. UK races will be run with the HSCC at Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Oulton Park, while European races will be held at Spa, the Nürburgring and Dijon.
