THE TRAVERS’ TROPHY TRIAL.

Organised by the Newcastle and District Motor Club, this trial is becoming one of the classic events in the North of England. The event was held over much the same course as last year and included several stiff hills and colonial sections. Riders who distinguished themselves throughout included Bullus (P. & M.), Goodman (Sunbeam), Povey (Velocette) ; and among the sidecars, Kershaw (O.K.), Giles (A.J.S.), and Bradley (Sunbeam). Many competitors were eliminated by the Harthope Mors colonial Section and although unobserved Raise Hill waS only climbed clean by three riders. The results were—

Travers’ Trophy, F. W. Giles (349 c.c. A.J.S. and S/e.). N. U.T. Trophy, F. W. Giles (349 c.c. A.J.S. and S/e.). Alan Robson Shield, G. B. Goodman (493 c.c. Sunbeam).

Gold medals were awarded to 22 competitors.
