THE MO MILE SIDE-CAR RACES.

This year’s” 200″ sidecar races were rather dull and uninspiring, as this event usually is. It was enlivened by a long duel in the boo c.c. class between Le Vack (New Hudson) and Denly (Norton), until the former blew up. The Byfleet was the scene of two rear-crashes Kempster had the front down tube of his McEvoy come in half, and Baldwin’s sidecar became unattached standing on end amid a cascade of sparks.

The big twins, as usual, were very disappointing, and the 600 c.c. winning speed was nearly five miles an hour faster than the i,000 c.c. Results as under :

350 c.c. RACE.

1. P. G. Hicks (348 Velocette), 70.84 m.p.h. 2 hr. 50 min. 39 4/5th secs.

2. P. J. Ashton (348 Chater-Lea). 68.31 m.p.h. 2 hr. 57 min. 27 secs.

3. P. A. Longman (346 New Hudson), 65.87 m.p.h. 3 hr. 3 min. 59 secs. Hicks broke the 3 hour record in Class B/S, at 70.79 m.p.h.

600 c.c. RACE.

1. A Denly (588 Norton), 78.73 m.p.h. 2 hr. 33 min. :37 2/5th sees.

2. G. H. Tucker (588 Norton), 75.86 m.p.h. 2 hr. 39 min. 48 secs.

3. L. P. Driscoll (588 Norton), 67.30 m.p.h. 3 hr. nun. 6 secs.

Denly secured three records in Class P. 100 Miles : 1 hr. 13 min. 3.016 sm.-81.47 m.p.h.; 2 Hours : 161 miles, 601 yds.-80.67 m.p.h. ; 200 Miles : 2 hr. 32 min. 17.96 secs.-78.79 m.p.h.

1. E. C. E. Baragwanath (096 Brough-Superior), 73.95 m.p.h. 2 hr. 43 mins. 35 secs.

2. P. M. Walters (980 Zenith), 66.62 m.p.h. 3 hrs. 1 min. 59 secs.

3. C. P. Edwards (980 Brough-Superior), 64.54 m.p.h. 3 hr. 7 min. 43 secs.
