THE TARGA FLORIO.

ETTORI BUGATTI is this year making a really determined effort to regain once more the Targa Florio for France. This race, the blue riband of road racing for the pure racing car, has fallen to this marque more frequently in recent years than to any other. Last year, however, the only Bugatti was that driven by Varzi, which

after a terrific race under appalling weather conditions, was beaten by Nuvolari and Borzacchini on AlfaRomeos, after making the pace in the early stages.

This season’s event, which will be the twenty-third race over the arduous mountain course in Sicily, will provide a historic battle. The Bugatti team, consisting of Louis Chiron, Achille Varzi, Albert Divo , and Count Conelli, will be matched against the very successful Alfa team, with Maserati ready to take instant advantage of their smallest mistake.

The 1932 Targa will be worth travelling thousands of miles to see.
