TR Register Le Mans Appeal 1980

The stalwarts of the TR Register are going all out to ensure that the Le Mans effort of the Janspeed/ADA TR7 Turbo, described in this issue on page 636, has a strong piece of cable behind it rather than the shoestring on which it has existed so far. The Register has launched an appeal to raise £20,000 needed to run the first TR in the 24 hour marathon for 19 years. Their ideal is to raise at least enough money to be able to run the car in British Racing Green and under the Register’s name. Contributions are being encouraged initally from Register members, but contributions from non-members will doubtless be welcome. Sweaters, T-shirts and sweat shirts bearing the team logo are being marketed, of which the entire profit will go to the Appeal. Further details from Alec Pringle, who’ll be manning the TR pit at Le Mans, assisted by Register members, at 120 Cuckmere way, Hollingbury, Brighton, East Sussex. — C.R.
