The things they say

“The VSCC has reached an anomalous position where a member can build a chassis from parts of four makes, insert a vintage aero-engine, and be hailed as upholding the spirit of the Club, whereas if someone makes a perfect copy of an important, original car; he will be sent away with sneers of derision” -John Warburton, editor of the VSCC’s Bulletin.

But surely those who race aero-engined cars are following in the tradition of Count Louis Zborowski and others in the 1920s, which the Club was formed to adopt?

And surely the only excuse for replica cars in its ranks is if they are, as suggested, “a perfect copy of an important original car” and only acceptable if the original important car has disappeared and no other exists, and no more than one such copy is accepted?
