Last month: Forward-Daimler, David Johnson, Wiscombe Park, 1965 British Championship.

Winner: Peter Wilson of Kenilworth, who was a Jaguar apprentice at the same time as Johnson. The car was based on a Cooper chassis and featured a Ron Beatty-prepped 4.6-litre V8 from a Daimler Majestic. Because this produced 300lbft of torque, a bespoke two-speed ‘box was fitted.
