South American tour planned

The organisers of 54° South, a month-long motoring adventure running the length of South America, claim it will be the most extraordinary journey in the world.

The tour, for classic cars and 4x4s, is being organised and promoted by James Walker Events. It will take participants from the equator, just north of Quito in Ecuador, to 54 degrees south at Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego.

“Both are must-see destinations, but what makes this experience so unforgettable is the contrasts in between,” said James Walker.

The tour lasts a total of 32 days, starting on January 23 2011, but 14- and 17-day options are also available.

Route highlights will include the Ecuadorian rainforest, the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, the Atacama Desert and the Pampas grasslands of Patagonia. For details go to www.jameswalkerevents.com
