Badge of honour

From 1921-1938 the BARC introduced a 120mph badge, the first of which was won by K Lee Guinness in a Sunbeam. Then in 1928 a pendant was added to the badge to indicate those who achieved a lap speed of 130mph or over. The first of these went to Kaye Don, in a V12 4-litre Sunbeam, who achieved 131.76mph in the Gold Star 25-mile Handicap race, with only 16 other drivers ever being awarded this medal.
