The 79th Members’ Meeting gets Goodwood’s season underway with a star cast of vintage power – including F1 V10s

Race start at Goodwood Members Meeting

Due to Covid, Goodwood’s 78th Members’ Meeting, in 2021, was run in October instead of its usual spring slot

Goodwood Members’ Meeting, April 9-10

There is no historic race meeting quite like the Goodwood Members’ Meeting. This year will be the 79th edition of the popular event, which continues to provide plenty of entertainment on and off the track.

This year’s gathering will have the usual trophy races alongside activities in the paddock and, of course, demonstration runs from eras gone by.

A celebration of the Porsche Group C brigade will bring together over 15 Porsche 956 and 962s for the weekend while Formula 1’s old soundtrack will be out in full force.

F1 V10s will scream as 1990s- and 2000s-era powerhouses will be given a roaring showcase around the Goodwood Circuit. Williams, McLaren and more will be represented, with highlights including Damon Hill’s championship-winning FW18, the Benetton B193 with which Michael Schumacher scored his first F1 victory and Ayrton Senna’s final championship-winner: the V12-powered MP4/6.

A dream line up of Aston Martins will be up for auction courtesy of Bonhams, with lots varying from £20,000 up to an estimated £350,000 for a 1964 DB5. Gordon Murray Automotive will also be on the ground at Goodwood. GMA will be showing off the brand-new T.33 supercar for its first public appearance, following on from the global debut of the T.50 in 2021.

Then there are the numerous races taking place over the weekend. Motors from Edwardian times to the 1980s will be filling the grids and there’s the usual two-wheeled variety also. The Hailwood Trophy and Sheene Trophy motorcycle racing events will now take place across both days for the first time.

The Graham Hill, Gerry Marshall and Moss Trophy races are all fixtures on the schedule and are complemented by several other prize events across the two days.

It will all culminate in the final 20-minute Gerry Marshall finale to cap off the festivities and what is sure to be a thrilling weekend.
