New National Colour

Some time ago it was announced that for a trial period of two years (commencing in 1947), the distinctive colour for British cars in International competitions will be blue, with the national flag on each side of the car. The actual shade has not been defined, and it is suggested that Royal blue should be used to differentiate from the shade used by the French. The position of the national flag has not been laid down, as it will obviously depend on the shape of the body, the location of the race numbers taking precedence. The size must be 1,575 square cm., which means that the Union Jack will measure approximately 32 cm. by 48 cm.

Club Christmas Card
Limited quantities of a club Christmas card designed by George Lane will be available early this month. The card measures six inches by five inches, is printed on a Cornwall grey board, and the club badge is die-stamped in green. The price is 9s. per dozen, inclusive of envelopes and purchase tax, and orders, accompanied by remittance, should reach the secretary as soon as possible.

Buffet Supper and Film Show
A buffet supper, followed by a film show and entertainment, will be held at the Gaumont British Cinema, Film House, 142-150, Wardour Street, W.1, at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7th. The film programme includes news-reel shots of the following 1946 events: Elstree Speed Trials, Nice Grand Prix, Shelsley Walsh, London Cavalcade of Motoring, Ulster Trophy race, 100-mile race at Atlanta, Brighton Speed Trials, and the novel “entertainment” promises to be very amusing. As accommodation is very limited, members are advised to make early application for tickets, which are 10s. each.

Badges
Delivery of club car badges has now commenced and all outstanding orders should be cleared within the next 14 days. Fittings are not yet available, but little difficulty will be experienced in improvising some form of attachment as the badge has a threaded shank fitted with two lock-nuts. Current prices are as follows: car badge £2 2s., silver buttonhole badge 15s., alloy buttonhole badge 7s. 6d., cloth overall badge 5s.
