(The article under this heading in last month's issue caused considerable interest and below we publish some correspondence relating to it—Ed.) Sir, I have just finished reading your interesting article…
HANTS & BERKS M.G. NIGHT NAVIGATION RALLY (October 2Ist/22nd)
This annual hilarity attracted 90 entries and they had some very special fun and games in addition to having to do some brisk nocturnal motoring and mapreading. Amongst the former jollifications was a flight in a very ingenious jetpropelled aircraft which was too new to appear in the S.B.A.C. Show last September. How many other clubs rise to such heights ? The results appeared with commendable promptitude :—
Let: it, P. N. Stark (Navigator, J”. Salisbury), (Vauxhall Velox), 21 points. 2nd : W. W. Vowler (Navigator, H. W. Smith), (Humber Hawk), 22 points,
3rd : A. Birkmyre (Navigator, J. Crisp), (11-litre Riley), 26 points.
The winner was driving as a V.S.C.C. member, a Hants ek Berks man being placed second. Eighteen competitors retired.
