I was very interested to see your article, “Forgotten Makes 39”, on the Barrington car in your, recently arrived, July issue. The Budd brothers lived next door to my grandfather’s house in Highnarn Crescent. They were always experimenting with their car, but were never able to eliminate the smoke from the exhaust. 1 knew Eric very well. He married my cousin Marjorie, and I spent many happy hours listening to his adventures as a despatch rider in the First World War. San Francisco, BASIL CROOKES California
