FINAL VINTAGE MEETING of 1984 Brooklands Rileys (above, at the
Barn) scrapping for second in the opening Trophy Race, A. N. Farquhar just holding off R. F. de L. Wills by 0.2 sec. Amongst an excellent entry, Colbourne’s Maserati 4 CM (right) and Charles’ C-Type Connaught (be)ow right) contested the All-Comers Race, the pre-war car retiring, while the Type C came fifth. The Vintage Scratch Race (below) produced a cliff-hanging duel between Harper and Footitt, the latter putting the AC / GN first over the line. The T35B Bugatti of B. B. D. Kain eventually edged Harper’s Morgan 3-wheeler into third.
