F1 Folly

July 7, 2014

Cameras on racing cars! Is the risk of them flying off and endangering drivers’ lives merited by additional TV viewing thrills? The F1 “politicians” must think quickly and make a decision.

At Monza Alesi’s errant TV camera nearly ended Berger’s career and robbed the Italians of a Ferrari victory. How odd that we can build these highly technical GP cars, send men to the Moon, but cannot screw down a lightweight camera so that it remains secure, kerb-hopping or otherwise. And I had so wanted to see an Italian car win the Italian Grand Prix.
