Collins celebration

Tribute to fallen GP ace at Shelsley

Ferrari and Aston Martin racer to be honoured at hillclimb

The life of Peter Collins will be celebrated at Shelsley Walsh in August 2008. To mark the 50th anniversary of his passing, a tribute will be held at the Worcestershire hillclimb venue, focusing on cars from his career. Collins, the winner of three grands prix, and a sports car star for Aston Martin and Ferrari, competed at Shelsley Walsh from 1949 to 1951 in F3 single-seaters. He lost his life in the 1958 German Grand Prix. In the meantime, the August 2007 event at Shelsley will celebrate 60 years of the British Hillclimb Championship.
