Brit tour for rare Pantera

A rare De Tomaso Pantera has returned to competition in the UK in the hands of Robert Hartley after being restored by Simon Hadfield. The 1972 Le Mans racer is thought to be the only Pantera built to Group 5 regulations and, until recently, was based in Italy.

“They made 14 racing Panteras, but this one went back to the factory to be converted to Group 5,” said Hartley, who ran the car on Tour Britannia. A collapsed windscreen at high speed at Silverstone interrupted its progress, but Hartley remains convinced the car has great potential. He plans to contest World Sportscar Masters races and more tours.
