Kyalami 9-Hr racers sought

Organisers of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Kyalami Nine-Hour race in South Africa are hoping to attract international entries to the recreation of the race on November 22. The entire Kyalami programme will then be repeated a week later at the East London Grand Prix circuit.

The first Nine-Hour event took place at the Grand Central circuit in November 1958 but it switched to Kyalami when the new track opened in 1961. The race then became an important and popular date on the international sports car racing calendar.

Historic sports, GT and saloon cars will be split into pre-66, pre-77 and pre-86 grids, with each having two 10-lap races followed by a three-hour event.
