Morris pursues Golf course

July 7, 2014

A British Saloon Car Championship VW Golf raced by Richard Lloyd, John Morris and Alan Minshaw will return to the track next season, after Morris’s son Jim tracked it down to a lock-up garage in Spain.

The 1979 Golf was built by Lloyd as a Group 1 car but converted to Group A specification at the end of 1980.

“The same guy has owned it for 30 years and it has not run since 1989,” said Morris Jr. He hopes his father and Minshaw will drive it during a track day.
